Lake Merritt in 1907, and in 2020

This was taken about where I cross the pedestrian bridge, on my bike commute home, where the roller skaters like to hang out in the cul-de-sac of Lakeshore Avenue. The animated version is here.

It's not easy to see that it's the same place, but it is. Here's a map from 1876, showing the only place rails crossed Lake Merritt:
