SKULL FOUND IN BACKYARD HELD OF INDIAN ORIGIN

RICHMOND, Dec. 5 - A human skull found Thanksgiving Day during the razing of a backyard shed is probably that of an American Indian, Dr. William Thompson, autopsy surgeon, disclosed today.

Dr. Thompson described the skull as being Mongoloid in character, and that of a small adult individual, between the ages of 25 and 30.

While suggesting that the skull could have come from one of the many local Indian shellmounds, he said it could also be a war relic from the South Pacific.

The find was made by James T. Richard, of 609 Ripley Ave., while he was demolishing a shed in his backyard.
